The Founder of Buddha Bar Died Aged 60

Raymond Vişan, the world renowned founder of Buddha Bar, has died in New York, after having struggled for a long time with a terrible disease. Vişan, of Romanian extraction, is world famous for the Buddha Bar concept, implemented now by thousands of restaurants, hotels, bars, spas and saunas the world over – a business that has brought him billions.

His family left Romania during the ’50s, at a time when the local communist regime was loyal to Stalin’s Soviet Union and many people ended up in prison as political prisoners. Vişan spent a good part of his life in Paris.
